Italy coach: Gattuso-Gravina contact. Two other former Azzurri on staff

The FIGC is cutting corners in the search for Italy’s new technical commissioner after Luciano Spalletti’s farewell. Contact is expected in the coming hours between federal president Gabriele Gravina and Gennaro Gattuso, who is currently the number one favorite for the Azzurri bench. A face-to-face meeting between Gianluigi Buffon and the’former Hajduk Split coach, eager to get started, has already been held in the past few hours.
The Italian team is expected to meet with Gattuso.
According to rumors, two other former Azzurri like Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli would join his staff: the goal is to recreate an ideal atmosphere after the difficulties of the last management.
Former Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli could also return to Coverciano with a role to be defined. “Today there is no meeting, I say this with the utmost clarity – said Gravina -. We have taken time to reflect not on a name, here is not a problem of name”.
“Here we have to work to put together at this point, since we have the time, a project that we then have to drop into reality, and see if it can be carried forward”. Other candidates include Roberto Mancini.
