Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini fly to semifinals in Berlin

No more stops for Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini. After their triumph at Roland Garros, the Azzurre fly to the semifinals at the WTA 500 in Berlin, hitting their 13th consecutive success. The seeded favorites beat the U.S. duo of Ashlyn Krueger and Jessica Pegula in a comeback.
5-7 6-1 10-6 the final score accrued in favor of Errani/Paolini after an hour and 21 minutes of play. In fact, Sara and Jas started well by getting ahead by a break in the fourth game, then confirmed (4-1). From that moment on, however, they suffered the reaction of the Americans who not only hooked them at 4-4, but overtook them at the most beautiful (7-5).
In the second partial, however, the Tuscan and the Romagnola changed gears: after the break obtained always in the fourth game, Errani and Paolino repeated it in the sixth game before closing on 6-1, bringing the set count back to even.
At the final super tie-break after a balanced start, the Azzurre took off from 4-4 stringing four consecutive points, before closing on 10-6 at the second match point thanks to a backhand error by Pegula.
In the penultimate act of the ‘Berlin Tennis Open’, Errani and Paolini will face the pair formed by Spain’s Paula Badosa and Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur, who eliminated the Tuscan in singles.
