Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz: Toni Nadal gets out of line and causes discussion

Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Toni Nadal had his say on the comparison between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz: “I think Carlos mentally is a little bit’ superior in the decisive moments, Jannik on the other hand is better at’imposing a very high tempo without making mistakes”.

Toni Nadal then unbalanced himself, albeit shrewdly: “When it&#8217s the key moment, between the two of them, maybe Carlos is a hair higher. Everyone can do better, even Federer has perfected the backhand. Jannik will continue to add little details, to evolve”.

Toni Nadal’s words obviously sparked great debate on social media, with Jannik Sinner’s fans instead arguing for their favorite’s superiority over his rival.

Toni Nadal then spoke about Wimbledon, not excluding surprises: “Normally a Sinner-Alcaraz final but we are talking about a particular Slam, there&#8217s always some surprises. If you find a Shelton or another big hitter on the day, big heads can fall. Grass is a tricky surface, the match can get out of hand quickly”.
