Following the final suspension, during the resumption, of the return match of the playout of Serie B between Salernitana and Sampdoria, the Sporting Judge of the cadet division made official on Monday the 3-0 forfeiture for the Doriani, who therefore win salvation by sending the granata to C.

.

The Campania-based club will also have to play the first two home matches of the 2025-2026 season behind closed doors, precisely because of the intemperance in the stands that caused the suspension when, on the field, Sampdoria had led 2-0 (same result as in the first leg) thanks to goals by Coda at 38′ and Sibilli at 49′.

So the ruling of the Sports Judge, Ines Pisano: “Given the report of the Referee and the collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in which it was reported that: at the 18th of the second half a group of supporters of Soc. Salernitana, positioned in the lower sector of the Curva Sud, attempted to force the gate of access to the playing area, failing to succeed, due to the intervention of the Police positioned to protect the opening; that immediately afterwards, in the Distinti sector on the Curva Sud side, other supporters of Soc. Salernitana, managed to force the gate of access to the playing area without being able to enter because blocked by the stewards and the Police”.

“That, subsequently, at the 21st of the second half, the match was temporarily suspended due to the throwing on the ground and in the playing enclosure, mainly from the Curva Sud sector but also from the Distinti and the Tribuna, of numerous firecrackers, smoke bombs and seats torn from the stands. Due to the continuation of this situation, the Match Director, after discussion with the Head of Public Order, invited the teams to return to the locker rooms. After about thirty minutes, in agreement with all parties, they returned to the field of play to resume the game but, after a few moments, the intemperance of the supporters of Soc. Salernitana resumed, thus forcing the Head of Public Order to order the definitive suspension of the match”.

“By virtue of the seriousness of the facts described above, Soc. Salernitana must answer, by way of strict liability, pursuant to Art. 26 paragraph 1 CGS, therefore it must be sanctioned, even if the circumstances provided for in Art. 29 paragraph 1 lett. a) and b) CGS, ex art. 8 paragraph 1 lett. e) and 10 paragraph 1 CGS; P.Q.M. resolves to inflict on Soc. Salernitana the loss of the match with the score of 0- 3, in addition to the sanction of the obligation to play two matches behind closed doors”.
