The Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia finished in fifth place in the second free practice of the MotoGP Grand Prix d’Netherlands and was optimistic to the microphones of Sky: “I am happy, we worked differently, I am satisfied because for the first time this year when I restarted with used tires I was able to improve, I was able to have consistency and this helps, not only the team, but especially me. I was feeling good this afternoon with the two softs, I got them pretty far ahead even though they had more laps than a Sprint. I did the best lap on the soft on the’last lap I did on it, but that”.

The two-time world champion decided to do the time attack later than other drivers: “We used a different strategy, I was out of the 10 because someone had put the soft on earlier. I was quite calm because I thought I was going to get in, unfortunately when I put on soft there’was a red flag”.

“At that point there were 13 minutes left, and we preferred to wait for the others to make the first run, and then turn on my own. In the first attempt I made some mistakes and then I also made some mistakes in t1 of the good lap, but I am satisfied. I do not say with ease, but with solidity I was fast”.

Looking ahead to the sprint race: “We have to see because it&#8217s a bit of a thing if, with the soft I found myself, I think I used the Sprint tanks and I felt good, I think we can be serene for tomorrow, we will have to see if tomorrow we can use the hard tire in front, because today it was quite cold and we could not use it”.

Bagnaia used the new fairing for a lap, then retraced his steps: “We made an error in judgment, dictated by me. To stay on the same feeling I wanted to stay with the average in front, but I didn&#8217t feel I could push to make a comparison, so I put the old fairing back on”.
