Novak Djokovic has his say on changes in Jannik Sinner’s staff

Novak Djokovic comments on the earthquake in Sinner’s staff just on the eve of Wimbledon this way: “I worked with Marco Panichi and Uli Badio, and I think both of them are phenomenal professionals, they contributed so much to my and my team’s successes. I don’t know what the reasons were that led to the separation with Jannik. It was also a surprise to me because I think Jannik’s game and physique have improved a lot in the last year and a half”.
“They have been an integral part of the team. To be honest, so, again, I don’t know why they parted ways – continued the Serbian -But changes can happen. It’s not just necessarily something related to a professional aspect, maybe it can also be something more private.”
“There can be so many factors that lead you to decide whether or not you want to work with someone. What I can say as someone who has made changes is that I understand that. I understand that sometimes you’re just not aligned with a way of thinking or seeing things anymore. And that’s when you separate yourself. Sometimes you are looking for something new, something different, something fresher”.
“Some people like to stay in the comfort zone. When you have a coach, or a trainer or a physical therapist who has been with you for a long time, as I have, half of my team has been with me for a very long time – emphasized Djokovic – that definitely gives you emotional stability. It gives you a sense of security, and from that point of view also strength. But again, it is difficult to make general judgments because each of us is different from the others”.
