Italy unbeatable: encore as European team champions in Madrid

Italy athletics confirmed its place at the top of the continent by winning the title at the 2025 European Team Championships, held at the Vallehermoso Stadium in Madrid. After its success in 2023, the Italian national team repeated the victory with a solid and collective performance, imposing itself ahead of Poland and Germany.

Of note, among others, were also the excellent performances of the mixed 4×400, which finished in second position, obtaining the national record, Fausto Desalu in the 200m, Yeman Crippa in the 5000m and the surprise Paola Padovan in the youthful jump, a specialty in which Italy has struggled in recent years.

With this success, Italy confirms its role as a reference in European athletics and looks forward to the next international events, starting with the World Championships in Tokyo 2026.
