Wimbledon, Jannik Sinner reveals his extra weapon

Jannik Sinner commented with satisfaction on winning the first round of the Wimbledon tournament in the classic post-match interview: “I am very, very happy to be back here. It is a very special place for me, the’atmosphere is great as always”. The world number one beat Luca Nardi in the Italian derby: “Playing against an Italian is, for us, very unfortunate”.
“But one has to move on, so I am happy that it was my turn – continued Jannik -. In the beginning I think we both struggled a little bit. There were not many exchanges. I tried to raise the level, to hit the ball hard. I am very happy with the way I closed the match”.
Sinner felt good on serve, which was his real strongest weapon today with as many as 90 percent of points with the first and just 12 points lost on serve: “We worked a lot on this fundamental after Halle. Today, especially in the important moments, I felt I was serving very well. I am very happy with my performance and also with my serve”.
The heat could affect many matches: “It is very hot, it is very humid. I can’t remember the last time the weather was like this in London. I will try to enjoy the game here. If you don’t enjoy playing on these courts, I don’t know where you could have fun…”.
