New feat for Carlo Calcagni, a great protagonist at the Italian Paralympic Absolute Championships in Grosseto, where he won his third gold medal, also triumphing in the 5,000 meters T72.

“I competed proudly wearing the jersey of the Paralympic Sports Group of the Ministry of Defense, which I represent with pride and a sense of duty”, stressed the Colonel of the Italian Army&#8217s Role of Honor.

“Every one of my endeavors is for the Ministry of Defense, but it is above all for all my colleagues who are no longer with us, for those who, like me, have suffered permanent damage, in the line of duty, and for our families, who share the burden of our battles, often in the shadows and in silence”, the dedication of Carlo Calcagni.

“It was two days of celebration, very intense, of real life, of passion, of love for sport – he concluded – Sport for me is not a simple physical act, but an act of resistance, a way to honor those who can no longer fight, to give voice to those who have been forgotten. And it is only in this way, by managing time in the best way, making the most of it, valuing every moment, that I am able to live with a condition so heavy, so difficult, so complicated, that could keep me away from any field of competition. But no: I manage to find a balance to really live, leaving an authentic and indelible trace of my existence”.
