Airoh and Martina Locatelli’s dream: recreating the Valentino Rossi'effect

A clear objective, which starts from an important reference: Airoh, an Italian company that supplies helmets to successful motorcyclists in different categories, is betting strongly not only on the quality of the work done in the company, but also on making an image linked to the’Italian nature of the product ever stronger. Confirming this, in the interview given exclusively to Sportal.it inside Airoh headquarters in Almenno San Salvatore (Bergamo, Italy), is Martina Locatelli, Chief Operating Officer of the company founded by dad Antonio.
“Mine has been a gradual entry – she tells -The company was born in 1997 while I was born in 1993, you could almost say we are contemporaries: for sure it has always been an extension of home, my sister and I grew up with it and, with time, we realized it could be an integral part of our lives”.
“My father had an’intuition, but in order to carry it out he had to be demanding and still is today– Martina Locatelli continues.
This is an important aspect, which pushes us to do better and better, to do something more in order to succeed in approaching perfection. The pride of being Italian in an international market is a lot: one of the challenges is certainly to keep our roots alive”.
Airoh’s philosophy, according to the company’s COO, is not to “seduce” already established riders, but to grow together with them: “To give an example – he explains – we were lucky enough to meet Antonio Cairoli well before he became a champion. A current example is that of David Alonso, whom we have been following for years and who year after year is making a name for himself on the track, with his success in the Moto3 World Championship and his move this year to Moto2. Our desire is to make Airoh and David Alonso become a bit like Valentino Rossi and AGV: the ambition is to make the company’s image and that of the rider even stronger, hand in hand.
