The strengthening work of Tezenis Verona continues, which has announced that it has signed a one-year agreement with Tyrus McGee, a 188 cm x 90 kg guard born in Stringtown (Oklahoma) on March 14, 1991.

His debut in Europe was in Spain with Club Baloncesto Breogán where he averaged 13.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 rebounds in the 2013/14 season. After a stint in Germany with Eisbären Bremerhaven, he landed in Italy in 2015 with Orlandina Basket. Then followed two important experiences in Serie A with Vanoli Cremona and Reyer Venezia, a club with which he won the Scudetto in the 2016/17 season. In 2017/18 he plays in Pistoia, ending the season with a 14.1-point average and 39.5% from three-point range. The following year he started in Turkey with Afyon Belediye, and then returned to Italy with Dinamo Sassari, winning the FIBA Europe Cup.

Subsequently, he wears the jerseys of Pau-Orthez (France), Hapoel Holon (Israel) – with which he won the championship in the 2021/22 season – and several other European and Asian clubs, including San Pablo Burgos, Fujian Sturgeons (China), Galatasaray, Hapoel Eilat and SIG Strasbourg. Last season he played with Pallacanestro Cantù in Serie A2, finishing the regular season averaging 15.2 points in 27 games. In the playoffs he maintained a 13.9-point average in 11 games, contributing decisively to promotion to the A Series.

“I am excited to join a historic club like Verona. I arrive at a structured and professional club with fantastic fans. I can’t wait to get to know the environment, the teammates and to start this new adventure,” McGee said.
