World Swimming Championships: Gregorio Paltrinieri is d'silver in the 10 km

After many postponements (because of unacceptable water conditions) the men&#8217s 10 km cross-country swimming finally went on in Singapore. Thanks to a heavenly performance, the’umpteenth of his brilliant career, Gregorio Paltrinieri won, with merit, the silver medal.

The 30-year-old Italian star crossed the finish line second, behind only Germany&#8217s Florian Wellbrock, who won with a final time of 1h59’55″50. On the lowest step of the podium was Australia’s Kyle Lee. Also worth highlighting is the’excellent seventh place taken by the’other Italian Andrea Filadelli. Great final sprint by Gregorio Paltrinieri in a test in which the very high temperatures were a determining factor that affected the performance of several athletes.

Thanks to this silver medal, Gregorio Paltrinieri has already earned a pass to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, one of the Carpi native’s goals. Several times, Gregorio Paltrinieri himself has stated that if he is in good physical condition, he will definitely be present in Los Angeles.

A applaudable start to the World Cup for Italy, which immediately takes home a silver medal with one of the pillars of the Italian expedition. Now the goal is to increase as much as possible the blue medalist.
