The path of the Azzurri volleyball team in the Nations League continues with victories. The Azzurri defeated Serbia 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-16) in the Pool 8 debut match in Ljubljana. Italy&#8217s seventh win in the tournament, out of nine matches played, is worth a momentary second place in the standings, an important step toward the Finals in Ningbo, China.

“Today it was important to start well, we approached this match with great concentration and concreteness – explained the coach, Ferdinando De Giorgi – because our idea was to put pressure on Serbia’s reception right away. All the guys were continuous, put in a lot of agonism and energy and always kept the right tension”.

The Azzurri will be back on the court tomorrow to face Ukraine, which overcame the Netherlands 3-2 today. “It will be a different challenge, because Ukraine is a more solid team even in the receiving fundamentals – the prediction of the blue coach -, has very good forwards and is a formation that always stays in the game. So we will have to prepare to play a very important competitive match”.
