The Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic resolved last Monday, July 14, to propose to the President of the Republic the conferment of Italian citizenship, for special merits, to Donte DiVincenzo, a U.S.-born athlete currently in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, pursuant to Article 9, paragraph 2 of the law of Feb. 5, 1992.

Thursday morning the Quirinale confirmed the signing by President Sergio Mattarella and is now awaiting the registration of the DPR with the Court of Accounts so that the process can then be finally completed.

President Petrucci expressed heartfelt thanks to Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, Forza Italia Group Leader in the Chamber of Deputies Paolo Barelli, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Carlo Deodato and CONI for their great cooperation.
