World Swimming Championships: silver by Italy in the cross-country relay

Another feat by swimming’Italy at the World Championships in Singapore. In Sentosa Bay, Barbara Pozzobon, Ginevra Taddeucci, Marcello Guidi and Gregorio Paltrinieri won the silver medal in the 4×1500-meter mixed relay, the last race of the cross-country swimming program.
The Italian team competed a splendid race, surrendering only to Germany, the latter dragged by the talent of the outstanding Florian Wellbrock, who closes with four golds in as many races held in the cross-country. Gregorio Paltrinieri and his teammates ended their event with a final time of 1h09’15″4, trailing only 2″1 by Germany. Completing the podium was Hungary with David Betlehem starring in a superb last fraction.
Sorry Italy, which brings home its sixth medal at the World Championships in Singapore (all silver). Incredible is the haul of Ginevra Taddeucci: four total silvers. Also satisfied is Gregorio Paltrinieri who, in spite of the finger problem that affected him in the water, wins three silver medals, bringing his total to 19 medals in eight editions of the Worlds.
Now, in Singapore, having completed the program of cross-country swimming competitions, it starts with artistic swimming. Simultaneously, the water polo finals will also be held. From Sunday, July 27, however, space will be given to the lane races where Italy is aiming to provide many more emotions.
