Scottie Scheffler triumphs in British Open

Scottie Scheffler confirmed himself as the world’s No. 1 golfer by triumphing in the British Open.
The 29-year-old U.S. golfer celebrated in Portrush, Northern Ireland, his fourth career success in a Major after two Masters events in 2022 and 2024 and last May’s PGA Championship.
An all-star podium, with the Olympic champion finishing the four rounds with a -17, ahead of compatriots Harris English (-13) and Chris Gotterup (-12).
At the foot of the podium was China’s Li, while host and No. 2-ranked Rory McIlroy finished no higher than seventh (-10).
In the back of the pack were the Italians, with Francesco Molinari (winner of the British Open in 2018) 63rd and Matteo Manassero 71st.
