Fiorentina and Verona in mourning: Celeste Pin has died

Panini

Florentin mourns Celeste Pin, a former purple defender who died at age 64 at his home in the Tuscan capital. His body was found on Tuesday morning: the alarm was raised by a relative who had not heard from him.

Celeste Pin wore the purple jersey for nine seasons, from 1982 to 1991, also playing in the 1990 Uefa Cup final lost to Juventus. He made his professional debut in 1979 at Perugia, while in the four-year period from 1991 to 1995 he was at Verona, before ending his career at Siena in 1996, at the age of 35.

Pin was a member of the Italian team.

Pin played for four years for Italy Under 21, and after hanging up his cleats he became sporting director. Since 2014 he was general manager of the Florence Sports Club.
