Gregorio Paltrinieri, double operation: two months of stop

After winning three silver medals at the World Championships in Singapore, Gregorio Paltrinieri underwent surgery on the elbow and finger of his left hand. This was announced by the Italian Swimming Federation through an official note issued on Friday.
“Gregorio Paltrinieri underwent a double surgery at the Sassuolo hospital performed by the orthopedic team led by Professor Giuseppe Porcellini– it reads there.
In particular, an elbow arthroscopy was performed with removal of the intarticular screw on previous fracture, which occurred in August 2024 at the end of the Olympic Games, with subsequent cartilage graft”.
“In the same operating session, reduction of the fracture of the base of the third phalanx of the fourth finger of the left hand, which occurred during the 10 km race in Singapore, was also performed by Dr. Stefano Manzieri. The prognosis is 6-8 weeks for full functional recovery and resumption of training” closes the FIN statement.
