Simone Vagnozzi reveals Jannik Sinner’s secret

Simone Vagnozzi, coach of Jannik Sinner, gave a lengthy interview to the ATP Tour microphones starting with his relationship with supercoach Darren Cahill: “I have to say that I am really lucky to have met someone like Darren both professionally and personally. We bonded right away, and that has definitely helped us on our path. It is never easy to find that chemistry, but we always put Jannik”s best interest first.

“In practice, we have different roles – added the’coach of the Azure -: I deal more with the technical and tactical side, while he is more responsible for the mental and emotional aspect. Obviously we share everything, and the most important thing is that the player always feels a united voice”.

He then revealed the secret of the world number one: “He is a very quiet person and very mature for his age. He knows exactly what he wants to achieve in life. But he is also a funny and genial 23-year-old boy, and he is a great person off the court as well. His secret is just that: the constant desire to improve himself, the never settling. Without that, finding the motivation to get on the field to train would be really difficult”.

Explanation on Carlos Alcaraz, the Highlander&#8217s biggest rival: “He is such a special player that he puts you in front of problems that others cannot create for you. For that reason, it is essential to prepare as well as possible to solve the puzzles he offers you. The more you train those situations in training, the more comfortable you will feel during the game”.
