Ducati, Andrea Dovizioso lapidary on Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez

The’former Ducati centaur Andrea Dovizioso in an interview with Fanpage.it spoke about the difficult situation that has arisen in the official team of the Borgo Panigale factory between Marc Marquez, undisputed leader of the World Championship, and Pecco Bagnaia, in great difficulty in the first part of the season.

“Marquez is very strong, charismatic, wherever he goes he creates “movement” in the box, it is normal. I don’t want to go into too much detail because I’ve been there myself. We should know the technical details of the bikes to really understand, but it is clear that Marc can adapt to everything, while Pecco needs a bike that feels “his own.” Marc has less need to have everything perfect to go fast. We are seeing this”.

The rider from Forlì believes Pecco has a chance to make up for it, although it will be tough: “The positive side is that Pecco still has a year to work. He is in an official team and can create the technical situation he needs. He won not by instinct but by awareness, by technical understanding, and this gives him margin”.

“On a psychological level it is tough, but it is human. The pressure is there. If he can figure out what he needs and find a way to get it, he has a chance. Last year he had already worked well in the winter, they chose the bike, but then other aspects emerge in the race. Now he has to work towards next year”.
