Respect, but no surrender. Taylor Fritz, finalist of the Us Open 2024, is ready to have his say in Flushing Meadows and is not resigned to the Jannik Sinner–Carlos Alcaraz duopoly, indeed: “Under the right conditions, such as with a fast enough court, I think they are both beatable”, is the glimmer the American tennis player sees.

Fritz, who made it all the way to the semifinals at Wimbledon, feels confident in his means: “With Alcaraz there was a very tight match at Wimbledon, but there is no question that he and Sinner are doing better than the rest of the circuit, I think a lot depends on the conditions” though.

“With the right conditions, if they are not in the best day, if you win the important points, or you have a’very good day on serve and they are a little bit off, they are very beatable”,

Fritz explained.

“If, on the other hand, you want to ask me if they are beatable on their best day, then that…” is a little different, said Fritz at a press conference in Toronto, where he comes in as the top-ranked tennis player along with Alexander Zverev.
