These are the words of Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who took stock of his first days on the Giallorossi bench: “My balance so far is good. We are now in the final stage of preparation and here we have found an excellent structure that helps us work at our best”.

“I have found players who want to have a great season”, he added and then, talking about the captain’s armband he instead explained the criteria by which he will assign it. “There isn&#8217t this problem. I have always given the sash to those who have the most appearances in the team. There are no other hierarchies.”

Then Gasperini dwelt on individuals such as Dybala and Pellegrini: “Paulo is here with us and is following a differentiated program to recover from his surgery – said the Giallorossi coach. “We know it is a situation to be monitored carefully, but we hope that from next week, once we return to Rome, he can rejoin the group.”

“Pellegrini, on the other hand, is still stationary, but he has started training again. He stayed in Rome just to start his preparation,” added Gasp who, when asked what is missing from the market answered: “A strong attacking player”.
