Simone Fontecchio: future in the Miami Heat would already be in jeopardy

Future already in jeopardy for Simone Fontecchio at the Miami Heat, according to press rumors in Florida. Per rumors reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel the Heat could cut the Light Blue right away, activating the “stretch provision”.
The clause allows a guaranteed contract to be terminated by spreading the salary (about 8.3 million) over three seasons, so as to make it less of a burden on the payroll.
This clause would be applicable by Aug. 29, and Fontecchio would thus go on to earn about 2.7 million euros for three years.
In the event of a cut Fontecchio would be free-agent, with the option of settling with another franchise, or returning to Europe. Fontecchio has been in the NBA since 2022: he played two years for the Utah Jazz and one season for the Detroit Pistons.
