Udinese: Florian Thauvin says goodbye, young defender arrives

After two seasons in the Juventus jersey, the last of which as captain, Florian Thauvin is leaving Udinese to return to Ligue 1, a league that the 1993-born striker had left in 2021 when he decided to move from Marseille to Tigres, Mexico. Thauvin will play for Lens, which will pay the Friulian club the sum of 8 million euros.
Thauvin made his senior debut in the 2010-2011 season with the Grenoble shirt, in Ligue 2, moving the following season to Bastia, where he stayed for two years. In 2013 he made his first transfer to Marseille, which in 2015 sent him to the Premier League, to Newcastle, before taking him back in January 2016. Until 2021 he then remained at OM’OM, followed by transfers to Tigres and Udinese.
For a player who leaves, there is also one who arrives: it is in this case a defender, Georgian Saba Goglichidze, who signed a five-year contract with the Friulian club after a season and a half at Empoli, with whose jersey he played 33 games in the league and 3 in the Coppa Italia.
Goglichidze, class of 2004, has collected 7 appearances and one goal with the Georgian Under 18, one appearance with the Under 19 and another 7 with the Under 21. He has also been on the roster of Georgia’s senior national team for several months, with whom he has collected 3 appearances between September 2024 and March 2025, all in the UEFA Nations League against Czech Republic at home, Armenia away and Armenia again at home.
