La Liga 2025-2026: Valencia-Real Sociedad, the probable formations

Change of direction at Real Sociedad. After the long and successful Imanol era, the Basque club has decided to rely on Sergio Francisco, a technician who grew up within the cantera and is deeply attached to the txuri-urdin colors. A choice of continuity, but also of great responsibility: the legacy left by Imanol is heavy and the new coach will have to prove himself immediately.

The debut will not be one of the easiest: Real is expected at the Mestalla, against a Valencia side that, although far from the splendor of a few seasons ago, continues to make life complicated for anyone at home. Corberan is confirmed on the bench, back from last year’s extraordinary feat.

In Real’s house, meanwhile, a few market-related unknowns: new signings Gonçalo Guedes and Duje Caleta-Car may not be available due to the well-known contractual registration problems that are involving several La Liga clubs.
