U.S. Open, Jannik Sinner to third round with no problem

Jannik Sinner easily advances to the third round of the US Open men’s singles by beating Australian Alexei Popyrin, number 36 in the ATP rankings, with a score of 6-3 6-2 6-2.

The world number 1 immediately goes ahead by a break in the first game of the match and also has three balls for 4-0, he misses them but on his own serve he concedes nothing to Popyrin closing on the first set point.

Another break in favor of Jannik, by the way at zero, at 1-1 in the second set. On 3-2 in his favor he saves his first break points, as many as four, then in the next game he again snatches the serve to zero from the Australian, closing shortly afterwards the second partial as well.

Sinner saves two consecutive break points at 0-1 in the third set but then again breaches Popyrin at zero and concedes nothing more to him: at 3-1 he misses a ball for the double break, which comes anyway at 4-2, conclusion with the serve held at zero.

Two hours and one minute the duration of the match, in the next round the South Tyrolean star from Sesto Pusteria will meet Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
