Jose Mourinho, farewell to Fenerbahçe after elimination from Champions League

José Mourinho is no longer the coach of Fenerbahçe. The Turkish club itself announced this in a note: “We parted ways with Jose Mourinho, coach of our professional soccer team since the 2024/25 season. We thank him for his commitment to our team and wish him success in his future career”.

The 1-0 defeat against Benfica in Portugal on Wednesday night had cost them access to the Champions League single group. The Turkish team will now continue its European journey in the Europa League, but with a different coach.

In the meantime, the Champions League championship phase draws were held: four Italian teams were involved. The main opponents of reigning vice-champion Inter are Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, with both matches against the English at home.

Champion Napoli will travel to Manchester against City and face Chelsea at home. Juventus will go to the Bernabeu against Real Madrid and play at home against Dortmund. L’Atalanta will fly to Paris to take on PSG and will host Chelsea at Gewiss Stadium.
