F1, Italian GP, it’s straight away Ferrari at Monza: Hamilton ahead of Leclerc in first free practice

Ferrari immediately starred at the Italian Grand Prix. In the first free practice session in Monza, the Red makes a double: Lewis Hamilton, who recorded the best time in 1’20’117, closes ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc, just under two tenths distant.

Third place for the Williams of Carlos Sainz, more than five tenths behind the British driver. Completing the top 5 are Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, fifth at the wheel of the Mercedes, a full eight tenths behind Hamilton.

The British driver’s fifth-place finish is a good eight tenths behind Hamilton.

Only in sixth place was the McLaren of Lando Norris, who preceded the other Williams of Alexander Albon, seventh. Closing out the top 10 were George Russell (Mercedes), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Isack Hajdar (Racing Bulls).
