Formula 1 is set to make its debut in Croatia: the project has a specific date

Croatia is willing to do whatever it takes to host its own F1 Grand Prix. The idea is to secure a spot on the Formula 1 World Championship calendar. The plan is clear and already well-structured, so much so that the “Croatia Ring” is now officially a reality.
The project to bring the Grand Prix to Croatia received a decisive boost after getting the green light from the Ministry of the Environment. Far from being a mere declaration of intent, government authorities have officially classified it as a national strategic investment project.
The reason for this government support lies in the significant economic impact expected for the Slunj region—the city chosen to host the complex, located just over an hour from Zagreb International Airport. The organization’s plan is a race against time: the goal is to complete construction of the circuit by the end of 2027.
To convince Stefano Domenicali and his management team, Croatia spared no expense, bringing in some of the biggest names in the paddock. The design for the 4.2-kilometer permanent circuit bears the signature of Hermann Tilke, the leading architect of modern Formula 1. Former driver Jacques Villeneuve is also involved.
