Venty-first in qualifying, 14th in the Sprint. Pecco Bagnaia’s Catalan Saturday is among the worst of his Ducati experience, and the another 12 points lost to Marc Marquez in the standings almost go by the wayside compared to a moment of difficulty that seems to have no solutions. The Piedmontese rider himself, speaking to ‘Sky’ produced a’rather harsh analysis.

“From the outside it may seem easy to analyze things – he said -, but from the pilot’s point of view the perspective changes. At times like this you have to stay close to the people who can really help, focusing only on driving on the track: everything else, at least for now, is not needed. I am trying hard to come out of it”.

“We have already analyzed the data from the race: the truth is that I lost the front in so many situations – added Bagnaia -. I am not only slow, I also risk falling. We are working to find a solution because I lack stability in front, when I try to enter the corners harder the bike doesn’t hold, and finding the right compromise becomes difficult. But some people succeed, Marquez does: you have to try to change approach”.

For the Moto2 world champion in 2018 and MotoGp champion in 2022 and 2023, ranked second in 2021 and 2024, it is undoubtedly one of the toughest moments of his career. “When I had this kind of difficulty in the past it was different, I had not won yet, but now that I have won two titles in MotoGp, accepting this phase is even more complicated. You have to do it, though: it is the only way to move forward”.
