After the excellent and convincing victory, all’debut on the Azzurri bench, against Estonia, Gattuso is already focused on the next challenge. On Monday night, at Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, the national team challenges Israel. At stake is the second place in the group, behind Norway, first with full points (12 points won in four matches played).

Second place in the group is the primary goal for the Azzurri. For this, the challenge with Israel, is crucial. Gattuso has had positive responses from the players he employed in Bergamo against Estonia. The’idea is to change the starting eleven as little as possible.

Almost certainly, the’attack will be confirmed, meaning Kean and Retegui (both in goal against the Estonians) should both take the field from the first minute. Some adjustments are likely in the midfield where, given Israel’s dangerousness on the restarts, they will need to be more careful.

First and foremost, it is possible that Zaccagni will sit on the bench to make room for Cambiaso, who is more skilled in coverage than the biancoceleste outfielder. Also to be understood is what will happen to Locatelli. Entered in the last minutes of the challenge in Bergamo, he could play as a starter, perhaps in a three-man midfield with Barella and Tonali. Regardless of who will take the field, the goal is to play with the same attitude as against the Estonians.
