Italvolley, record live TV numbers for World Cup final

The women’s national team led by Julio Velasco graduated yesterday, in Bangkok, as world champions after winning gold at the Paris Olympics a year ago and two VNLs in two years. A triumph that rightfully projects this team into the legend and pantheon of Italian sports.
Following from home the return of the Italian women’s team to the top step of the rainbow podium were 4 million 123 thousand viewers, or 33% share, who watched the Italy-Turkey World Championships final live on Rai 1.
The post-match still recorded extraordinary numbers: 4,100,000 viewers with 38% share. The volleyball World Cup final between the Italian women’s team and Turkey turned out to be the most-watched program of the day on Rai 1.
Numbers of great value were also recorded by the rainews.it website where among the eight most viewed videos on Rai’s news portal, as many as six were about the women’s national team led by Velasco.
It was not only the television coverage that was incredible: today all newspapers, sports and otherwise, devoted ample space to the blue world champions.
Data testifying, once again, to the great passion of Italians for volleyball.
