Filippo Volandri knows what Jannik Sinner missed against Carlos Alcaraz

Filippo Volandri, captain of the Italian national Davis Cup team, spoke to Supertennis microphones about what happened in the final in New York: “Sinner tried, but Alcaraz served better and played incredible. Jannik however learns from these defeats and will come back stronger”.
“The starts often made the difference. It was good to have seen Jannik step up after being down in scoring. When he did, he put doubts. For me he is the best under pressure, but this time he felt the pressure. In the third set we needed a better performance on serve. And Alcaraz was better than Sinner, he covered the court incredibly”.
“Jannik gave great acceleration but the ball came back. For me he is the best under pressure, but this time he felt the pressure, he missed two attacking rights on break balls. That took away his confidence and points of reference.”
“Then he tried to the last, Alcaraz however served at higher average speeds, played amazingly at key moments, and we can only recognize that he was the best on the court”.
