European Championships, Finland’s fairy tale ends: Germany in final

Germany is the first finalist of the European Basketball Championships. The Germans won at the Xiaomi Arena in Riga 98-86 (30-26, 31-21, 20-26, 17-13) over Finland.

Balanced game in the first quarter: Valtunen, Jantonen and Markkanen started well and held their own against the reigning world champions. But in the second half Schröder and teammates take the lead closing to +14.

The Germans reach the final undefeated and will face the winner between Greece and Turkey, scheduled for later in the evening. For them 26 points by Schröder and 22 by Wagner, for the Finns 21 by Nkamhoua.
