Italbasket, new coach: Gianni Petrucci does not change his mind
The president of the Italian Basketball Federation Gianni Petrucci made some statements to the journalists present after the meeting with the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale, where the women’s national team and the men’s Under 20 national team were present.
“Our orientation you know, is Luca Banchi– he reiterated on the possible new coach of the men’s Italbasket -. However, this is a decision for Datome. Clearly, there are also other coaches, only when there’s the signing can be made official”.
“I hope the next CT gets the same love shown to Pozzecco– added the FIP number one -, the players were coming for him. I also told President Mattarella, in almost all disciplines the best coaches stay in Italy”.
“In my long career I met Ciampi and Napolitano, she was missing and I crowned the dream thanks to these incredible guys. With the two teams we had unthinkable results and gave a message of inclusion. President, come and watch a game, it would be the first time in basketball. For us it would be a great honor” concluded Petrucci.
