After disappointing results in the Dutch and Italian Grand Prix, Mercedes is looking for redemption in the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan, scheduled for the weekend at the Baku circuit: “It is a challenging mix of long, high-speed straights – declares Toto Wolff to the team’s official channels -, 90-degree turns and the narrow, twisty castle section. It is a good testing ground for both car and driver”.

The team principal of the German stable has Ferrari, 20 points away in the standings, in his sights for second place in the Constructors’ Championship, but he is not forgetting Red Bull, which is chasing at -21 from the Brackley team: “It will be an intense race to the finish in Abu Dhabi, with three teams fighting for second place in the Constructors”.

“In Monza we lost ground to our rivals– added the Austrian manager – and we know we have to do better in the last eight races than we did in Italy if we want to finish in front”.

“The grid is compact and once again it will be the small margins that will make a big difference. If we can perform as we know how, then we can look forward to a competitive weekend, fighting in the top positions” Wolff concluded.
