Formula 1: Fernando Alonso got the monkey off his back

After so many disappointments, finally a joy. In the Spanish GP, at home, Fernando Alonso got the monkey off his back. At the’eighth round of the F1 World Championship, the first two points, chased for a long time and come close several times.
After calling himself, in that of Imola, “the unluckiest driver in the world”, the two-time World Champion received a nice gift in Barcelona. Thanks to the Safety Car and his aggressiveness in the final laps of the GP, he finished in the Top 10 and finally has no more zero in the driver standings.
“I’m glad I had a bit of luck. Maybe, as I already explained, we deserved more in Imola or especially in Monaco, but the Safety Car played a trick on us. I know it is not much, but I saw the grandstands stand up, I saw the grandstands get excited in the last laps and that gave me that extra boost”, his words reported by Marca.
Fernando Alonso has no intention of settling now that Lady Luck seems to be on his side. There’s a problem he wants to solve quickly to be even more competitive: “I would like to open the DRS and overtake, but I open the DRS and the cars in front of me run away. So we have to improve our top speed”. Clearer than that…
