World Championships, Tadej Pogacar challenges Remco Evenepoel in time trial

The Elite time trial opens the World Road Cycling Championships in Kigali, Rwanda, and it starts immediately with a great challenge, that between Tadej Pogacar and Remco Evenepoel, the latter the reigning Olympic champion and two-time world champion in the specialty.

“If Pogacar sets a goal, it is because he knows he has the means. It is good that he is here. I am ready for the challenge” explains Evenepoel, who has been training in Calpe, Spain, where he resides part of the’year.

“The course suits me, but to beat an absolute specialist like Remco and become world champion, I will have to be in top form that day”, retorts Pogacar.

The Slovenian has as his best result in a world time trial sixth place in 2022. The time trial is 40.6 km long and will be held tomorrow with start and finish in the capital of Rwanda.
