Remco Evenepoel humbles Tadej Pogacar and drops hat trick in world time trial

Third consecutive world title in the Elite time trial for Remco Evenepoel. The Belgian, on the streets of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, literally humiliated Tadej Pogacar, who started two and a half minutes ahead of him, catching him and pulling away with a few hundred meters to go.
1’14” was the advantage with which Evenepoel, along the 40.6-kilometer course, pulled ahead of Australian Jay Vine. Third at a full 2’36” was the other Belgian Ilan van Wilder, who knocked Pogacar off the podium by just one second.
Italy, without Filippo Ganna, is far from the noble zones of the ranking: Matteo Sobrero is 13th at 3’59”, Mattia Cattaneo 15th at 4’10”. Evenepoel, who is also the reigning Olympic champion in the specialty, confirmed himself as the absolute ruler of the individual races against the clock.
