Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina pampers Marko Guduric
Ettore Messina spoke to Sportal.rs microphones after the winning Euroleague debut of Guduric’s condition: “What I said was that Marko came in with tendinitis, which prevented him from training with us and playing the Supercup. And that’s normal, because when you go to Eurobasket, you give your best. So, there was nothing against the national team or the Eurobasket. It’s normal. Players go there, they want to compete. A lot of games, a lot of training, can lead to certain inflammation. When he came back, we put him in an individual program”.
“As I said, he didn“t play the Super Cup and it was a big risk for us because we wanted to win, even though we could win without him. And then we decided together that it was important both for him and for us to play the first Euroleague game. We controlled his minutes. As you saw, he played only 16 minutes. Because the team played well, I was able to get him to play in the key moments of the game. And he played like Marko Guduric, fortunately”.
Closing remarks on the next rival: £I think Partizan is always a very good team, very well organized. Željko is the best of all coaches, we all respect him a lot. I expect a tough game and I expect that, even with a short preparation, they will be very, very ready”.
