Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini were confirmed as champions at the WTA 1000 in Beijing. The Azzurri, second seeds in the seeding, beat the pair formed by Miyu Kato and Fanny Stollar in a comeback (6-7 6-3 10-2) after just over an hour and a half of play.

In the first set it was the serve that dominated even though Errani/Paolini wasted three consecutive break points in the eighth game and two more in the tenth game that coincided with two set-points. Thus it comes to the tie-break where the duo formed by the Japanese and the Hungarian prevailed.

Immediate the reaction of the Tuscan and the Romagnola in the second partial: break in the opening, repeated in the ninth game that means 6-3 Errani/Paolini and everything postponed to the third set. At the final tie-break it is a domination of the Azzuras who impose themselves with a clear 10-2.

For Errani and Paolini this is the fourth title of the season – after successes at the WTA 1000 in Doha, Rome and Roland Garros -, the ninth in their careers. But there’s more: the triumph at the ‘China Open’ is also worth first place in the WTA Doubles Race for the Italian pair.
