Benedetta Pilato and Chiara Tarantino cooperate and take plea deal: suspended for 90 days in Singapore case

The Italian Swimming Federation, through a statement, explained how the notorious Singapore airport matter involving athletes Benedetta Pilato and Chiara Tarantino came to an end.
“As part of the proceedings regarding the facts concerning Benedetta Pilato and Chiara Tarantino, the Italian Swimming Federation, having also received the clearance of the CONI Attorney General, has accepted the sanction proposal of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office regarding the plea bargaining request submitted individually by the parties” it reads.
And again: “Taking into account the facts that have emerged from the’investigation and the cooperative attitude of the athletes, who have admitted their responsibilities, the Prosecutor”s Office has determined the suspension in 90 days from social and federal activities as of today”.
A suspension that cost dearly to the two Apulian swimmers, who will be forced to miss the upcoming European Short Course Championships, scheduled for Dec. 2-7 in Lublin, Poland’s ninth largest city.
