Donald Trump disappointed, Nobel Peace Prize to Maria Corina Machado

The very prestigious award was given by the Nobel Committee in Oslo, Norway, to Maria Corina Machado, leader of the opposition to President Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela.

Obviously, as soon as the news was released, many people went wild on social media: the Nobel Prize also became an object of cheering. Prominent among the nominations was that of Donald Trump, at the center of intense lobbying in recent weeks. The former U.S. president had repeatedly stated that he wanted the prize, which he believed he deserved for his involvement in the Middle East and in international conflict management.

María Corina Machado Parisca, born in Caracas on October 7, 1967, is a Venezuelan engineer, politician, and human rights activist. She was a deputy in the National Assembly of Venezuela from 2011 to 2014. She founded the political movement Vente Venezuela, co-founded the civil organization Súmate and is part, along with Antonio Ledezma and Diego Arria, of the civic platform “Soy Venezuela”.
