Union Saint-Gilloise: Pocognoli’s replacement chosen, even Inter on his way

L’Union Saint-Gilloise, a few days after the surprise farewell of Sebastian Pocognoli (now at Monaco), has chosen its new technical guide: he is David Hubert, who in turn has landed on the Unionists bench leaving that of OH Leuven. An operation that was made official by the Belgian champion club itself, Inter’s opponent in the Champions League next October 21.

L’Union Saint-Gilloise, one of the greats of Belgian soccer until the 1960s, after a very long period in the minor leagues has returned to its former glory, rising to the top division in 2020-2021 and winning the championship in 2025, ninety’years after the last first division tournament won by Unionists. This year they are playing in the Champions League for the second time overall, after their first participation in 2022-2023 ended with a move to the Europa League after the group stages and reaching the quarterfinals in Europe’s second competition.
