Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are dominating the ATP circuit-a duopoly that has characterized the past two years and is likely to last for a long time. Unlike other former tennis players and insiders, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga goes against the grain and commented sarcastically on the current moment in world tennis.

“Sinner and Alcaraz? I would have liked to see them face stronger opponents – said the’former French tennis player to Univers Tennis – I would have liked to see them in my era face Del Potro in the third round, Murray in the round of 16, Djokovic in the quarters, Federer in the semifinals and Nadal in the final at Roland Garros…” are the transalpine player…s words.

Tsonga concluded his thoughts this way: “They are two complete players, the strongest physically and mentally, but right now there are only the two of them”.

The’former French tennis player was number five in the world and won two Masters 1000s in his career, but he has never managed to dominate in a Grand Slam tournament in the Big Four era.
