Luca Banchi explains his gesture after the tragedy

Basketball does not stop as established in the Federal Council convened under urgent procedure by Gianni Petrucci after the tragedy that snatched from life the unfortunate coach driver Raffaele Marianella.

Numerous speeches were made during the meeting, which was also attended by Luca Banchi, who recently took command of the National Team succeeding Gianmarco Pozzecco.

“It only takes the gesture of one to pollute the work of all – said the technical commissioner – but we cannot give others the opportunity to appropriate our work. We could have canceled the gathering, but we decided to hold it anyway out of respect for the mourning, but also for the work done by the Azzurri.”

To remember and commemorate Mr. Raffaele Marianella, President Petrucci, with the consent of the entire Federal Council, has ordered a minute’s silence and mourning for all competitions this week, in every league.
