At least four months of stop for Marta Bassino

The FISI press office reported that “the operation at the La Madonnina Clinic in Milan to which Marta Bassino underwent has been concluded.”
“The Piedmontese champion, who was operated on by FISI Medical Commission President Andrea Panzeri in collaboration with Drs. Riccardo Accetta and Gabriele Thiebat, had the fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in her left leg reduced and synthesized, with reinsertion of the medial collateral ligament.”
“As of the next few hours Bassino will begin the rehabilitation phase that will get her back on skis no sooner than four to six months.”
So, since the Milan-Cortina Games are in February, Marta will bid them farewell and indeed, most likely skip the entire season.
