Charles Leclerc thanks Virtual, Max Verstappen settles in.

Charles Leclerc enjoys his second place finish in Mexico “I’m really happy with how this weekend went. The race in Austin was good for us, but we didn’t really know what to expect; it’s a surprise for us to be on the podium, we’re glad we did it.”
“I was very happy with the Virtual Safety Car. My tires were gone, Max Verstappen was coming hard on softs. Safety saved me”, the Monegasque also admitted.
Max Verstappen could only settle for third place: “It was a hectic start of the race for me. We started very well but then the road so long made me go to the outside. I had to go on the curb and then on the grass. In the end it was a tiring race. We tried to manage the first stint by going long, then with the softs we were more competitive”.
“Fighting for second position is still a very good result for us. Sometimes it goes well for you and sometimes it goes bad for you. The virtual safety car did not reward me. We were quite convinced to make one stop”, he concluded.
