WTA Finals, dream prize money for Jasmine Paolini and other stars

The numbers are staggering those up for grabs in the 2025 edition of the WTA Finals, which will kick off on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the King Saud University Indoor Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring the best singles players and the strongest doubles players on the women’s professional circuit. Among them will be Jasmine Paolini, both in singles and doubles, where she will be engaged with the’other Italian player present in Riyadh, Sara Errani.
In addition to sporting glory, no less important economic sums are also up for grabs, with a prize pool of $15.5 million (about €13.445 million) to be divided among the protagonists depending on the final result and the number of matches played. The highest prize will be awarded in the event of an undefeated victory: as much as $5 million and $235,000 to the athlete who can achieve final success without losing a single match in the group stage.
Final success with a knockout in the early stage of the tournament, on the other hand, would bring “only” $2 million and $540,000, which would be in addition to the $1 million and $290,000 for victory in the semifinals. As for the group stage, each win will award $355,000, but even just participating in the tournament will guarantee $340,000 (playing all three matches, otherwise the figure drops to $280,000 for two matches played and $230,000 for single attendance). Athletes designated as substitutes will be rewarded for just being in Riyadh, even if they do not take the field: $150,000 is the amount set for each.
As for the doubles players, undefeated success would bring $1.139 million, victory in the finals $524,000, and victory in the semifinals $257,000. Each success in the group stage, on the other hand, will be worth $72 thousand, to be added to the $142 thousand bonus for participation in three matches (a figure that would drop to 116 thousand for two appearances and 95 thousand for the single one), the pairs designated as substitutes will receive $62 thousand instead.
Jasmine Paolini will play the opening round in the ‘Steffi Graf Group’ along with Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula. In doubles, the Bagni di Lucca athlete and Sara Errani have instead been placed in the ‘Martina Navratilova Group’ along with Veronica Kudermetova/Elise Martens, Hsieh Su-wei/Jelena Ostapenko and Asia Muhammad/Demi Schuurs.
