Lorenzo Musetti plays it all in Athens: the board of the'Azzurro

Felix Auger-Aliassime’s loss in the final to Jannik Sinner at the Paris Masters 1000 still leaves Lorenzo Musetti with hope of qualifying for the ATP Finals. After the ‘Rolex Paris Masters’, the Blue has been overtaken by the Canadian in the ATP Race, but he has his fate in his hands.

Musetti, who dropped to ninth in the rankings with 3685 points – 160 less than Auger-Aliassime, at 3845 -, will play it all at the Athens ATP 250: in case of triumph, the Tuscan will be certain of a place among the top 8 in Turin, since Auger-Aliassime withdrew from the Metz ATP 250 due to physical problems.

Musetti, the second seed in the ‘Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship’ will debut directly in the round of 16 with the winner of the match between Stan Wawrinka and Botic Van de Zandschulp. In the quarters, the Carrara player could face one of Alexandre Muller or Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

In the semifinals we could see an all-Italian derby with Luciano Darderi, the third seed in the seeding, while in the final Lorenzo would have to overcome the’obstacle Novak Djokovic, the seeding leader, to go on to take the tournament and the qualification.
